United Way of Allegheny County As part of our comprehensive plan and smart investments to help financially struggling families thrive, United Way’s United for Women initiative provides thousands of women facing an unexpected crisis with short-term assistance so they can get back on their feet and avoid poverty and despair. United For Women also engages volunteers to help women regain their jobs, enter the workforce and stabilize their family situations.
